DUO X2
Violinist • Pianist
Duo X² is a musical duo comprising of violinist Dr. Xenia Deviatkina-Loh and pianist Dr. Xiao Chen, whose performances predominately engage both classical and contemporary music. Dr. Chen is an accomplished performer and pedagogue; she is currently serving on faculty at Mount Saint Mary's University, having previously served as Lecturer in Piano Performance at UCLA. Since their establishment, they have given multiple concerts across Seattle and Los Angeles.
One of our dream projects has always been presenting and performing a programme that exclusively features female composers. History has rarely paid attention to compositions written by women. It is only recently that women’s contributions to contemporary music are leading the way in modern aesthetics; their artistic narratives are being acknowledged. The programme we designed strives to promote the artistic perspectives of women of many ethnic backgrounds.
